About

My small business came to me while daydreaming on the train.

I was working out how to combine my love for creativity and my goal of owning my own business. I had prior experience and a passion for sewing, but I was afraid that I would remove the joy by trying to turn this into work. That was when the idea of embroidery came to mind.

At the time I was living in Tofino, and despite its remote location being part of the draw, it can also make it difficult to access many services. Tofino is an artistic community, and thousands of tourists flood the town each year, itching to bring home a piece of the west coast. Businesses wanted to provide embroidered merchandise, but at the time it was impossible to get this done locally. I saw a way that my skills could benefit the community and I didn’t have to mull the idea for too long before purchasing my embroidery machine and equipment.

Since December 2021, I have been successfully running Seams&Stitches solo from my home. After a recent move to Nelson, B.C. I am looking to expand and focus more on my business.

Stay tuned for more!
